Annual Event

National Night Out (NNO) is a nationwide event held annually on the first Tuesday in August with the goal of making communities safer places to live by bringing police and the public together under positive circumstances. NNO heightens crime awareness, builds support and participation in anti-crime programs and helps make neighborhoods safer places to live. Emmitsburg has been hosting an annual NNO celebration since 2017.

For 2019, the Frederick County Sheriff's Office has decided to host the County-wide event in Emmitsburg. The event is FREE and will feature police K-9 demonstrations, complimentary hot dogs and ice-cream, music, face painting, pony rides, petting zoo, vendors, fire trucks, SWAT teams, McGruff the crime dog and much, much more. We hope to see you there!

Please note:
Community Drive (in Community Park) will be closed to vehicles starting at 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
The Dog Park will also be closed starting at 3:00 p.m.

PARKING:

Parking will be allowed behind the Emmitsburg Community Center (in the parking lot and field) and Emmitsburg Elementary School for the event. No parking areas will be marked and ticketing/towing will be in force.
