MDE Required Cross-Connection Control Program

The Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE) is now requiring all governmental organizations who have water systems to implement a Cross-Connection Control Program (Program) in order to protect the public potable water supply from the possibility of contamination.  The Board of Commissioners passed Ordinance 19-04 on April 1, 2019, which created Town Code Chapter 13.17 – Cross-Connection Control Program.  Please see the cross-connection control ordinance fact sheet, which outlines new requirements for all properties that receive a water bill.  Contact Zach Gulden, Town Planner, at 301-600-6309 or by email at if you have any questions.
