Yard Waste Drop-Off
The Town of Emmitsburg operates a yard waste drop-off station at the sewer plant on Creamery Rd. It's open on the first and third Saturday of each month from 9am to noon. Everyone wanting to drop-off yard waste must show ID and live within the corporate limits of Emmitsburg. This station will accept yard waste only - no regular trash.
Acceptable Yard Waste

Yard and Garden Trimmings, Grass Clippings, Leaves, Brush, & Branches, in Brown biodegradable paper bags (NO PLASTIC BAGS)

Branches should be cut in 3' lengths and must not be more than 3" in diameter.

plastic bags with root balls, dirt, sod rocks, trash or branches larger than 3' long or 3" in diameter will not be accepted.

Town Recycling
The Town provides a recycling dumpster located at the sewer plant on Creamery Road site. The dumpster is available for public use the first and third Saturday of each month from 9am to noon. Any Frederick County resident may utilize the recycling dumpster.

Every other Friday - Frederick County Recycling picks-up recyclables in the Town of Emmitsburg.
