Home Reopening of Irishtown Road

The Town of Emmitsburg held a ribbon cutting event today in order to celebrate the reopening of Irishtown Road and the full opening of Brookfield Drive at Irishtown Road. Road improvements were required in order for the developer to complete the final phase of the Brookfield residential development. These improvements include installing, driveway aprons, concrete curbs, gutters, sidewalks, and street lights, widening Irishtown Road, connecting Heatherwind Drive to Irishtown Road, finalizing the connection of Brookfield Drive to Irishtown Road, road striping & signage, extending 8” sewer line, extending 10” waterline, and extending the stormwater management infrastructure. Sidewalks and street lights will be installed within the next few months as homes are built. The final coat of asphalt is scheduled for late summer.
